All members, guests and visitors are asked to observe this simple code in order to maintain the standards associated with a Private Members golf Club.
-
Smart casual dress may be worn in all rooms of the Clubhouse except in the Dining Room after 7.00pm (5.00pm in the Winter months, i.e. from 1st November to 31st March) when a jacket and tie must be worn
-
Shorts providing they are of a tailored pattern (“cargo” shorts are acceptable) and worn with knee length hose or above the ankle white socks are acceptable on the course. The length of shorts should be no more that 3 inches above the knee
-
Shorts may be worn in the Clubhouse up to 6.30pm. This time may be extended by the Captain, the Chairman of House or the Secretary with an appropriate notice being placed on the notice board
-
Men may wear sandals but they must be worn with socks
-
No collarless T-shirts or football shirts will be permitted on the course or in the Clubhouse. Round neck “golf” shirts are permissible (there is a discernable difference between a normal T-shirt – but if in doubt please ask)
-
Shirts must be tucked into trousers at all times
-
Caps are not permitted in the Clubhouse and must be worn the correct way round on the course – peak facing to the front
-
Under no circumstances will the wearing of blue or distressed jeans, jackets, shirts or shoes known as “trainers” be permitted on the Course or in the Clubhouse. The only exception to this rule being that visitors under the age of 16 will be permitted in the Clubhouse with smart trainers
-
Golf shoes may not be worn in any Club room except the locker room
-
Ladies may wear shirts with collars with or without sleeves, or collarless tops with sleeves. Sun tops are not acceptable. Shorts or skirts should be no more than 3 inches above the knee. Golf tops that are specifically designed to be worn outside skirts, shorts or trousers are acceptable
-
Members and their guests should be aware that specific dress codes may be applied to certain functions and these will be notified accordingly on posters advertising the event
The Secretary, Course Marshalls, the Golf Professional or Duty Manager of the Day will oversee that a patron’s attire is considered suitable. Their decision will be final.
